Training

Since graduating from St George’s Hospital Medical School (University of London, UK) I have completed dual fellowships in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  I trained at the NZ Liver Transplant Unit and did a fellowship at Middlemore Hospital.  During this time, I undertook research into colorectal polyp prevalence in Maori and Pacific islanders. I have also published research in familial bowel cancer, Helicobacter pylori, viral hepatitis and gastric hormone levels. More recently I have trained in ERCP at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, RSA.

I am Clinical Director of Gastroenterology at Waikato Public Hospital, and

an Honorary Senior Cinical Lecturer at Auckland University. When not at work I am kept busy by four school age children.
